    Hi all,

Today I get to buy a BluRay player and I am going to go ahead and buy one from Walmart. They have several in stock, but I would like to talk to others that may have suggestions on what to get. I can't spend over 100, and see there are quite a few for half that much. I just would like a nice one that will last me.

I have a Roku2 so I don't need one that has the streaming on it. I wish I'd known they had those before I got the Roku, but maybe they are better separate.

Any suggestions for me before I go off half-cocked and buy something I know little about? I've been using a neighbors for a few days and it is really nice, a panasonic. I don't see any panasonics at Walmart though. Also this one I think was over 100 bucks. What I love most is just plugging the HDMI into 1 of 2 ports in my TV. So much easier than all those colored wires:(

Thanks in advance, for any feedback, Denise:)
PS All I own are DVD's so far, but maybe I will try BluRay. I choose to buy the Bluray because it plays both, but the DVD Player doesn't play bluray;)

It would help if you told us what brands/models Walmart is offering.

    Personal experience:

I purchased a Buffalo brand BDXL optical drive from Walmart some time ago. Despite it being an "off brand", it works great.

P.S. Win 10 is now at build 14393.82.

They seem to have mostly LG's & Sanyo's. I favor a Panasonic that my neighbor has. These Sanyo's "look" cheap. I bought one for 50 bucks, and the screen has gone black for a couple of seconds about 4 times since I bought it. I don't know what would cause that except the "player" itself. I'm going to return it and wait until I can find something for a little more value online, probably Amazon.

I miss having Radio Shack, or some sort of specialty shop. Out town is too small, thank goodness for "shopping on line".

This one is the same as my friend had loaned me (she wanted me to have it but I told her no, that I was sure she'd want to use it some day). Now I wish I'd taken her up on it. They are too expensive, but maybe next month, lol;) PS The Samsung's look decent too, maybe one of those.

You might find something less expensive on eBay. I'm both an Amazon and eBay member and for the same items, I've found lower prices on eBay.

I bought a Sony that is NetFlix capable. It doesn;t have a wireless adapter installed, which really ups the price, but a long ethernet cable solves that issue. It was under $50.
