simonk, just out of curiousity, is it legal to do this? Just coz it's broadcast on the radio doesn't mean it's not probably copyrighted. Bazza

It is comparable to taping a live radio broadcast, or live tv show (all hail the Tivo). Nothing illegal about that. You just get into problems when you start sharing the music that you have recorded. I know several people that record streams at work and then put them on CD to take them home and listen since all they have is dial-up. A lot of audio programs have built in recorders, xmplay and quintesential for starters. Keep in mind that for the most part these record the entire stream. It is one big file and not broken down into individual songs. I played with one program that made individual tracks, that I won't mention as some think that it is not legal to do so (google and ye shall find), but it had a lot of problems as it relied on tagging sent with the song so if the tag for the next song was sent 10 seconds before the current song was over then program would start on the next track. Hence you had a lot of tracks that started at the end of another song and stopped before the current song was complete.
