I have Audacity and Win7. 64 Bit and the Blue Yeti USB Microphone.

I Have an OnBoard Sound Chip Driver.

Now in the Audacity Recording Options I have the FREQ. Set to 44.1 kHz even though I can Set it to 48 kHz and my Blue Yeti USB Microphone can Support that.

Now as Far as Bit Depth I keep it on 32 Bit Loating.
But I can Set it to 16 Bit.

I know a Higher Bit Depth is Better but why does it Say 32 Bit Floating and not just 32 Bit?

And do I need 32 Bit?

I Watched a Video that Show if you Record a File in 16 Bit and it is all Distorted you can not Fix it.
But if it was Recorded in 32 Bit Loat you can Open it and Fix it.

I thought 32 Bit Float just used more Bits?

What is it about 32 Bit Fload that lets you be able to Fix it if need be?

32-bit float is 24-bit audio with an extra 8 bits for volume. If you normalize the volume prior to editing you don't have to worry about it peaking and distorting.
High-end DAWs will use 32-bit float during editing by default. Then it will be saved as16-bit or 24-bit.
