    Hello Everybody,

This is my 1st post here. i made a big mistake causes data lost from my hard disk. i had two HDDs in my pc. My windows 7 becomes corrupted which was installed in HD1 and HD2 was kept for backup purpose. Before doing reformat in HD1, i cut and paste all of my required files (mostly images) from HD1 to HD2. Then i installed Windows 7 and while installing windows i deleted the existing partition, created the new one and formatted also. Unfortunately, i made the whole formatting part on HD2. Now i lost all files from from HD2 as well as from HD1 (due to cut and paste).
Will anybody tell me how do i get data from either HD1 or, HD2?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi and Welcome to the forum

Just so I have this in my head, did you combine the two partitions HD1 and HD1 into HD1 for the new install of Windows 7?

If so then it maybe hard to recover anything, as the new format > install will likely have rendered the data unrecoverable, but if you still have the two partitions HD1 and HD2 and where HD2 has the data but deleted you could try this app Recuva (will need to save any data found to a different partition or removable device, do not save to same partition that the data is being recovered from)
