Recover Excel Files

    I need to recover an Excel file that will not open. Any no-cost ideas? Thanks.

    Is the file in question password protected, and do you have Excell on the computer that you are trying to open it on? What kind of errors are you being given?

    how are you trying to open the file? are you clicking the file, or opening excel, and then opening it from there (file/open)? and as novice said, what is the error message (if there is one)? - sos
