    Hi
I had a nasty virus and have eliminated it. However it appears I damaged xp or some drivers in the process. Most of XP works. However I had to do a repair install and I think that has created some problems. My original disc was XP Home 2002. Before my troubles I was fully compliant with M/S updates up to SP3.

After XP boots I get a message that I need to update to SP2 and SP3 as current OS is unsecure.
However I cat not get internet explorer to work or outlook or windows update.

When I go to launch IE i get

iexplore.exe - entry point not found
The procedure entry point shreggetvaluew could not be located in the dynamic link library shlwapi.dll

when I go to launch Outlook I get

outlook.exe - entry point not found
The procedure entry point createinfowindow could not be located in the dynamic link library msoert2.dll.

Note that firefox browser seems to work fine as does McAfee.

Any suggestion how to get these .dll issues fixed so I can update my OS up to SP3?

    Thanks

    Ericx

Solved by network install of SP2. FYI: IE7 must be uninstalled before a repair
