Recovering lost files

Hi, i was asked if i could help a friend and the problem is......

She unplugged her Dell pc straight from the plug while it was on and never switched it on for a couple days. When she started the pc up again she noticed that all her files and settings where gone. She lost all "My Documents" files and pictures ect.

I was wondering if there is any software out there that could recover the lost files. I know System Mechanic recovers deleted files but these files are lost due to an error caused by improper shut down.

Any ideas from you pro's would be much apreciated

 

Check the Data Recovery section right here at MG. You're sure to find something in there..... If you don't mind spending a little bit of $$$, check Easy Recovery Pro 6. I've used it on several occasions: it's easy and can recover data from drives that have even been formatted!!!! Also, check this link:

It's a great tool and was free as of a couple months ago; I think it still is free. It's bit slow in the scan department and doesn't have the most user friendly interface, but it you check out the web site, read the FAQ's and help files, it should do the job...... GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

C:\Documents and Settings..
