I recently purchased a dell studio laptop with windows 7 64bit. One of the first things I did when setting it up was to make the recovery discs since it does not come with the windows install disc. Anyway I got all the way to the end of the second disc (dvd) and then the computer just hangs. After about 15-20 minutes of no activity I shut it down. It was at 100% on the second disc but did not exit the program on its own so I am wondering if the second disc is truly complete and functional. I hate to take a chance and try running the recovery discs in the future just to find that the recovery will not finish. Is there a way to tell if the disc in question is good, or do I need to order recovery discs from dell?

The machine is most likely under warranty, so I would call Dell. I would also ask Dell what has to be done to get the CD/DVD's sent to you. They are usually very good about that and may not even charge you.

Ok will do. Even if I have to pay it won't be much. Thanks!
