My computer only came with a recovery disk and that disk is only programmed to work with my old MSI KT3 Ultra. Is there any way to force my current install of XP to accept my new MSI K7N2 Delta-L motherboard?

Not really, I believe it is tied into the BIOS. Their assumption is that that copy of XP is going to go with that PC, one downside to buying a PC with a mass bundled version of XP on it.
