Recycle Bin Freezes

I'm running Vista Home Edition and just noticed, every time I delete something it freezes on the "calculating time" window. If I use cntrl alt & delete it clears it and sends it to the recycle bin, but to empty the bin I have to do this all over again. I tried deleting the Recycle Bin and letting Windows create a new one but it didn't fix it. Anyone else had this problem?

How did you delete the Recycle Bin?

Did you try turning it off, rebooting and then turning it back on? If not then I would try that. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Change-the-Recycle-Bin-settings So you would use the "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin" option, reboot and then go back and uncheck the option. See if works better.

 

I tried turning off the Recycle Bin as you said, and rebooted. I still have the window freezing at the "calculating time" window.

Try a chkdsk.

In Computer right-click C: drive and select Properties>Tools tab>Check this Disk for Errors:Check Now>Check both boxes. It will check file system on next reboot.

 

I ran chkdsk, reebooted, no luck, still freezing. The one message I am getting once in awhile is " MEAutodetect MFC Application has stopped working", although I don't know if the 2 issues are related.

Yes, I do have "Concepts Music Express" installed. Could this be causing the Recycle Bin to Freeze?
What about the "Online Armor" link, is that what I need to fix the "MEAutodetect MFC Application"?
