Red Alert 2 (flashes back to desktop)

Hi guys,

I know Red Alert 2 is old.. but its still fun

I just boght a new PC (3.4 Ghz , 512 Ram , Windows XP on NTFS) and I'm having a problem running my Red Alert 2...

After installing it and running it the splash screen show up and on the moment the display changes resoultion... it returns back to the desktop with no error messages, no nothing !!!

I tried solving it and searching the net.. the only possible thing was my NTFS...

Please help me with this problem..

I believe RA works with compatability mode turned on.

 

Well, I didn't have to do anything with compatability running RA2 on my system. I have a 1.7GHz P4 512SDRAM, WinXp, & NTFS also. Check compatabily settings and make sure everything is fine there, & let us know what's up.

 

then it might be a problem with using old drivers / not having dx 9.0c / not having all windows updates / updating mobo bios, etc.
