Just wondering what is the standard line of code you put in a html document for a sound clip, such as .avi?

I thaught this was similar to referencing an animated .gif, but this didn't work - any help much appreciated...

    You'll need a HTML Embed

And unless your AVI is broken, it shouldn't be just audio. Audio would be mp3, wma or wav or somthing similar.

As a design tip, I really would think at least 10,000 times about putting sound on a web page. I'd only do it if it was absolutely neccecary.

    Many thanks for your help...

Yes, I know what you mean by; 'unless your AVI is broken, it shouldn't be just audio'. There would also be a video element, right? Should have thought of that...

The idea for having sound in the first place is to introduce the home page when it loads. The clip wouldn't last for more than a few seconds. It's not essential, but I've thaught over the years, that the one thing that's missing from so called m-media sites, is a bit of sound. I think I'll go for a .wav file

I'll look at the link - cheers...
