We have done all of the above but still can get any internet access at all.

IS there a way to show you what is going on as far as our software goes, like we do in a Hijack This Log? Just wondering where to even begin to describe it.

THe computer just doesnt like any software for internet connection CABLE to be installed. It stops halfway and says there is script error running the page and then it throws us out.

The disk we using works fine on our other computers. We are using an Adelphia Disk for Cable service.

Once we get this computer that we are working on to connect, we are going run a home network. However, the Main network (the computer that has the actual cable connection is not this computer that I am trying to fix the computer script errror on.

    So, where shall we begin?

    thanks

Just a few things to try below.

    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Click the General tab.
    4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
    5. Click Delete Files.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Click Delete Cookies.
    8. Click OK.
    9. Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes.
    10. Click OK.

    NEXT:

    1. Quit all programs that are running.
    2. Click Start, and then click Run.
    3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
    4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):

    • Shdocvw.dll
    • Msjava.dll
    • Actxprxy.dll
    • Oleaut32.dll
    • Mshtml.dll
    • Browseui.dll
    • Shell32.dll

Windows XP and Windows 2000 only
Restart the computer to enable the changes to take effect.

    Let us know.

Its Windows XP Professional it says.

Listen, at this point, after over a week trying to resolve the entire computer problem ( i spent days in another forum)....I have decided I would like to swap out hard drives.

Can anyone answer this: If I buy a new hard drive, do I only need to load a copy of Windows XP on it??? Is that all I will need, just the operating system?

Also, dont some hard drives come already formatted?

If so, the only other thing I would need to know is this:

Once i get the new drive, before I go on line with it...WIll AVG and Sygate be enough protection.??

    thanks

    Hey dustin,

You can do that and all you need is the XP cd and a new HDD is not that difficult to install. We could help you with the installation and loading the operating system if you have any questions.

Before you totally give up, did you have Kazza installed and then removed it?
