Referring new members.

I am positive that I read a thread or post somewhere here at MG that you have a referral number and can get something equal to "credit" for referring new members. However, I cannot find it now. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I believe that there was information that each member had a referral id number. If this is true, how can I find mine? I have checked the FAQ and searched the forums with no luck. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Yes, it was a bit like a bad nightmare. Come to think of it - it IS a bad nightmare! People started thinking it was some sort of personal brownie point system, or a "I hate you", competition.

We get enough flak from whiners about Post Counts and Titles.

 

Too many new members here think "oh, you have more posts than me you must know ALOT!!!" although, i don't know too much, but ive learned, and there are ALWAYS posts that i tell them the "right" thing to do .

 

i refer everyone i know with a computer, whether they think they know what they are doing or not.

Just checking because my intent was not to whine. Further, I did not mean it to sound like I thought someone was accusing me of whinning and if it sounded that way, I am sorry for that. Just wanted to confirm that it did not sound like I was whinning. That was the last thing on my mind.

Because I love it here at MG. Only the coolest GEEKS gather here! LOL!

Nope, like Halo said. The "whining" referred to some people in the past that were always having a beef about post counts, wanting special titles, and when we had a Rep. Point system, using it for their own personal love/hate games. Doesn't happen that often nowadays, but we seemed to have phase of inappropriate threads and posts some time back. It happens when dealing with a lot of people over a long period of time.

Just relax and enjoy the information and friendships. No probs., and no harm in asking a question.

Oh, yeah, you'll automatically be a 'Major Geek', in name at least, when you've made 1,000 posts.

Just wondering how you would even use "credit" on MGs if such a system existed. And if you introduced a PITA would that mean you get deductions from your credit? I'm sure Tim has nothing better to do that keep a tally sheet for us
