Reformat HD before installing WIN 2000?

    Hello,

    Would it be better to reformat hard drive before installing WIN 2000 Pro? Currently using
    WIN 98.

    I always recommend a clean install.

    disclaimer: Make sure you back up necessary and vital personal data before reformatting as all data will be lost after the format.

    Thanks for the advice. Reformatting was what I had in mind, just wanted to double check.

    One reason it might be better is you are using FAT32 and want to convert to NTFS when going to Windows 2000 or any NT based OS like NT or XP.
