reformat problem.

i reformated now i have no sound... =( and it cant find my modem!!!

 

This would more then likely be because you haven't installed your sound driver and modem driver. Windows qill quite often auto detect these on a fresh install but it's not uncommon for it to not have drivers for them. In which case it's best to take out the driver CD's that came with the audio card and modem and install them.

If you have onboard audio the drivers for it will be on the motherboard CD. If you've thrown out these cd's figure out what motherboard you have and download the drivers off the developers site.

 

Driver CD's are better than nothing, but they are usually months old or more.

Download EVEREST, which will tell you what your hardware is and provide links for the latest drivers.

Probably won't work for the modem, but for everything else it will be OK.

If you know the brand and model of your modem, post back and someone will help you with drivers.
