reformat

how i do reformat?? i have the windows xp home edition disc. when i put it in it says "install" and other options.. i clicked "install" but it said "if you wish to install your files and settings will be lost. and it only gave me a cancel button...

 

You have to boot from the cd-rom check in your bios for the boot sequence and make cd-rom first boot.

Press spacebar and fallow instructions...

 

how do i check the bios?

 

Depends on your board usually delete or esc.... at the boot, (should say somewhere on your 1st boot screen))(hardware detection screen)

CAREFUL YOU CAN MESS UP A PC IN THE BIOS VERY QUICKLY, Double check all your settings b4 you save/exit---careful careful

do you have more then one cd-rom ???

If so check for the correct one...

yeah i only got one cd rom.
the cd is burned, but its burned straight from an orignal disc.

when i just click on it when windows is already booted, it says that i have a newer version already on the computer.

 

Did who ever copied the disc do a true disc copy or just copied the files? If they just copied the files from disc to disc, the CD won't be bootable. You need to make a real disc copy which copies the bootable part of the CD as well.
