Reformating:NTLDR missing?

    I have reformatted my WD.80G HD. I have tried to boot from a startup floppy,or xp CD.from HP to reinstall XP home. The screen comes up saying NTLDR is missing. What is this. How do I install the os? It is a HP. pav. 520w. TIA.

    make sure the boot order is set properly in the bios so it can boot off the CD.

    I have tried that but the cd is not reconized during boot. I don't know why.

    To correct the problem, the user must boot the computer with a Windows 95 or 98 Startup diskette or another bootable diskette with sys.com on it. Then, at the "A:\>" prompt, type "sys c:" and press "enter." A "System Transferred" prompt should appear and then the user must reboot the computer without the diskette.
