    Hey guys

Reformatted my Mother and Slave HDD's last night to get a clean start on my PC but when I go to Network Connections and try to locate my house's network so that I can connect to the net and start downloading my drivers, it tells me that my network hardware is not installed.

Usually when I reformat, it's just a case of locating what I'm connecting to (Network is attached to a router that connects to the net), so considering my network worked fine pre-reformat, but not post-format it really concerning me, given that no wires have been removed.

Until I can get onto my network, my PC is just a vegetable with naught but Paint and Pinball to keep me entertained.

I don't know the details of my ISP provider, and even if I did this wouldn't connect me to my network surely?

I can't connect to anything anyway because ite'll telling me to install my netowrk hardware, and modems etc; even though we have no disks for installing the network hardware; it should be plug and play, and of course, we don't use a modem.

Nope, that's not my problem :) I've already got Network Places to show in my start menu through using the control panel.

My problem is that within Network Places, when I click 'set up a home or small office network' (The picture of the house on the cable), it tells me my network hardware is not installed, and I have to install it (Even though it has no install disc as it should be plug and play).

What it should do, what it did in the past, and what this here laptop does, is go through 2 screens where you press next, then come up with a browse window, already displaying our network. My freshly reformatted PC however, just tells me my network hardware isn't installed :S

Hope you won't take offense if I ask...how's your mother doing after being reformatted??? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

    But seriously folks...

I've read about this sort of problem but have no experience with networking computers, but it seems to me, since you have interent access to post here, that if you went to your network hardware manufacturer's site and looked for their support section/FAQs you could probably find some helpful suggestions.

    Good luck!

Do you have an actual network at home, that is, 2 or more PCs?
