Refresh Windows 8.1

I bought my laptop new. It came with windows 8 installed. i upgraded to 8.1. Now i am having weird things go wrong and would like to refresh (not reinstall) my windows. Is that possible even though I did not have a Windows 8.1 install originally?

Microsoft is the gift that just keeps on giving. Sheesh.

 

It will refresh to what you upgraded it to, ie Windows 8.1

 

You don't want to go back to 8.0 because MS hasn't been supporting it with Security Updates (at least for the last 3 months — the only things that have come up are definition updates for Windows Defender and the Malicious Software Removal Tool).

 

A 'refresh' of an existing Win 8.1 wont revert the system to its original Win 8. Only a factory reset would do that.

 

It will not refresh to 8.1. It just gives me an error message. So I'm just going to live with it.
