I have successfully added new memory cards to other pc/laptops, no problem.
    But...
I bought a refurbished hp nc6400 for my husband. It came with WinXP and I downloaded OpenOffice, Adobe and Norton 360. I ordered 4G memory, opened and installed and the computer will turn on, but no harddrive. Black screen and I had to remove the battery to shut down.

I reversed the process and still the same, no response. I e-mailed the company, since I only had it 11 days. They will probably refund.

Also, since I can't remove anything from the hard drive, should I change all my passwords, etc.?

    What happened? Any ideas?

    Yes!
I had a desktop and the power supply died within 4 days. I returned the computer.
Then I went to all my sites and changed all the passwords just on the off chance someone would get to my info on the hard drive. I did not want to open the computer up, remove the hard drive and wipe it because I might then be accused of breaking the computer.
