Refurbished versus new?

In regards to electronics, how does anybody feel about refurbished versus brand new?

The reason is that I just bought an Emerson 32" LCD tv off of Newegg for $199 this morning and wifey is giving me a little static about not getting new.

I simply explained that I have dealt with Newegg before and trust their products and services, but she is still skeptical.

What are your experiences and thoughts?

 

Ive got friends that bought refurbished items before and never had an issue with them.

 

I've been in the market for a 32" and when I got up this morning, I got an email from Newegg and found this:

I immediately reached for the credit card and hit the launch button. :drool

 

Wow that is really nice looking tv. Id be grabbing for money as well if I seen it:-D
