Refuses to connect to youtube

As of 3 days ago i came across a problem that any browser be is firefox or plain internet explorer refuses to connect to www.youtube.com.
Every time i follow a link or type it in it takes me to a previous page which is normally google as thats the first page i open.
This is v strange and the other computer in the house can connect. Its setup like Modem ---> router ---> downstairs comp
---> Upstairs comp (Me)
The router used to be used for wireless but we switched to using a cable.
All the connections are via a wire.

Any ideas on this random problem (preff without reinstalling windows)

 

Sounds like a Flash or even JAVA problem you may have also, a long shot, but if you have a software FW is it fully configured properly to allow Youtube to access the internet through your browsers.
Also have you tried accessing YT with FF in it's own Safemode i:e right click on FF icon and choose run in Safemode and see what happens then !

 

You could even ping 173.194.33.136 via cmd or type tracert www.youtube.com, make sure you put a space between the word 'tracert' and the 'www.' and see what you get back, at least you'll know whether your PC is sending and receiving or not !

 

ty for the help guys, tho it has appeared to have fixed itself, ill make a note of those replys for future referance if it happens again. What a weird problem
