Regarding Edge - Should I Reinstall It?

I've managed to remove Microsoft Edge from my win 10 system; the single main reason I did this is because I was upset that Microsoft shoved it down my throat.
Now that I know I can remove it if needed, I'd like to know if it is decent enough (and controllable enough) to allow back on my system.

Shall I reinstall it? Well, since you asked, I'm going to say 'no'. Download Mozilla Firefox instead. Great browser - open source too.

    Thank you, Zebra.
I use Firefox (among others) and I agree, it's a very nice browser, especially with the ability to customize using extensions.

I'm finding that more and more sites don't work properly with Firefox. Because Chrome and Edge have a large % of users, I suspect websites are coded to work with chromium based browsers letting non-chromium browsers slip further down in usage.

I've installed Brave, which is based on chromium and now use it on the sites that don't work properly with FF. Before Brave, I installed Vivaldi which is also chromium based.

    Thanks for the reply, Plodr.
I've seen the same thing; I've tried Brave and I like it.

I'm seeing the same with Firefox, problems this week with a much used UK gov website and with LastPass too. I just use Edge when necessary and find it very fast and problem free. Maybe that's where I'll end up. Would have to use a MS account for sync and that's mainly why I've stayed with FF up to now.

I haven't encountered very many problematic websites with my FF browser, but I know those do exist. For me, I still try to stay clear of both Google Chrome and MS Edge. Google Chrome because I already use 'more than enough' Google products. MS because their "in your face" gotta set up an account with us and we'll make our apps unremovable approach is rather annoying.

My 'chrome' substitute is a German browser called Iridium. But I use it only very rarely... such as an occasion of buying airline tickets from a particular foreign airline... and not wanting to bother turning off adblocks and trackers I have within FF.

Yup, chrome is not installed on our Windows computers. One of the first things I do when I get an android device is to open googleplay and download another browser. I was using the AdBlockPlus browser but I've now settled on Brave.
Since we still run Windows 7, I opted out of installing Edge on it. It seemed silly to install a browser when MS no longer patches Win 7.
