No that is *not* wrong: while there are always dangers when using the webernet there are ways to protect yourself: 'in general' using Firefox is certainly *safer* than using IE. Any other opinion is simply wrong.
having said that I do appreciate what you are trying to say: of course it is important to have a decent firewall/antivirus/antispyware running.
your statement that Kodo's reply is 'wrong' is incorrect. -I'm willing to bet that he knows more than you about this subject (and I'd be willing to bet that people who regularly use this site would agree).
...so while I get your point: I have to say that 'in general' using Firefox is much safer than using IE.

Which browser do you think is more secure, Maxthon/IE or Firefox? And why? You seem to believe Firefox is as leaky as IE. Could you post something to back up your statements?

Here is geneman's question "but if it is safe enough to use mozilla for sites which needs maximum security, like a online bank account"

Kodo replied Yes it is safe enough for that use.

now tim contradicts himself, if Kodo is wrong, then Firefox is not safe to use on bank accounts. But no browser is more safe than another, this would lead me to believe that tim doesn't believe IE is safe to use on back accounts or any other browser for that matter.

Here's a link to Paypal with their digital certificate to IE6 users.

now tell me all browsers are created equal.

Yeah, everything that hooks to the net has holes. But to tell people that everything that hooks to the net has the same number/size holes is just ridiculous. Now I'm probably coming across as more of a jerk than I actually am.

helloimtim jumped the gun a bit because he is passionate about informing people. Nothing wrong with that, but the answer to the question is still a resounding YES.

I really enjoy Mozilla. Haven't seen a pop-up since I started using it. The only probalem I'm having with it is I think it's blocking some sites that I want to view.

In the Tools menu, Options, Web Features, you can allow the sites you want popups from! :)
