RegCure is not in my startup or anything like that, yet every time I reboot it pops up. How can I stop this?

Look over the settings in the program itself and set anything automatic to manual. If that doesn't fix it and You are running XP or older, install Startup Monitor http://www.mlin.net/StartupMonitor.shtml
You can stop it from running there.

Personally I would uninstall RegCure and any other Paretologic product you have and use something more trustworthy. Paretologic doesn't monitor or care what their affiliates say and do to get customers. Their sales tactics are the same as a full blown rouge product. It's about the money period. See here: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/paretologic.com

Also RegCure is not available for download at MajorGeeks. That in itself should be a red flag.

Use something else like CCleaner or the Glary Utility.

The Windows Registry compared to other Windows Files/Folders is actually quite small. Cleaning it will likely never make a noticeable difference. Yes they do have their place but it is usually pretty uncommon to actually 'need' to run one.

Thanks! I didn't even realize I was replying to the same person in both topics. :-o

Sorry about necroing this thread, but I though I'd post an answer to the OP.

After much screwing about on my father-in-law's PC, I found that RegCure starts from the windows Scheduler.

    In Win XP:
Start -> Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks

Just disable the three RegCure scheduled tasks.
