this isnt really about computer software, but since i had nowhere else to ask i had to put it here.... please dont screw at me cos i really need 2 know about this!

what does multiregion (dvd player coding) mean?
In specific for this dvd player?:

some of the older dvd players had only one encoding. when they started to come out with various encryptions to prevent dvd copying some of those dvd players could no longer play the dvd's. those encryptions were referred to as "regions". so multiregion simply means it can play all the different variations of dvd encrytion so u won't end up with disc/read errors.

 

plus on a sarcastic note it could mean it was half assembled in mexico, and half in taiwan

 

ok so... basically it means its a dvd player that can play all dvds?

(i left out the regioning techno babble)
