registry cleaner for Vista???

Well, I now have Vista, and some of my tried and true past apps result in a crash. Tried the safest registry cleaner, I thought, and crashed it. Only had my rig two days, and it is already slowing down.
Any thoughts on a good, general, over-all optimizer/utility app for Vista specifically? (Not restricted just to freeware since I am desperate)

Oh yeah ..... after updating with SP1 ........ slower and more headaches!!:confused

 

First, I doubt that your registry has gotten so large in 2 days, that it is causing a slowdown.
First, go through this and get things tidy.
Basic computer maintenance everyone should do

Second,, run some good malware scans, and if you come up with anything or even suspect something visit here and follow the procedure exactly:

The Vista Optimizers I have tried, didn't impress me, so I have no recommendations.
CCleaner is a great app for keeping your PC free of junk and includes a mild reg cleaner:

Thanks everyone. I will give an update. There are real array of problems which have me totally stumped. One of the problems is I can't seem to get all the varieties of blue screen to stay still long enough to read through everything. I have hit pause, printscreen with a variety of other keys and still those screens go by too quick to read them all.
