Could all you Majorgeeks please give me information on a good Reg.cleaner that also backs-up the changes made?

HI, I like the registry cleaner with JV16 Power Tools. I use it on automatic by default it is manual. I have used it not years this way and I have never had any trouble. It does make a backup. Used on Auto a box appears and suggest the safest way to delete is manual but I ignore it and as I said I have not had any trouble.

With registry cleaners I feel safety is the main thing and it is usual to find that after cleaning with one program another will find some entries it will have missed. Stick out for safety. Peace Mal

JV16 PowerTools also has has a list of ignore words (install, realplayer, windows, qiucktime, etc) so it won't mistakenly delete entries that could cripple your computer. I find JV16 Powertools to error on the safe side.

It also has a temp file remover, duplicate file remover, and related tools.

Thanks for the repies GEEKSTERS:D .

I have decided to give RegscrubXP a go, 'cause a mate referred it to me.

Does anyone else use it? And is it any good?

    Many Thanks,
    Jade.

I tried to use JV16 and kept getting some message about not being able to work on 'terminals'? I forget the exact wording, just went ahead and uninstalled it. I used it once on win98?SE and it seemed to work just fine but I never did figure out how to get it to work on XP. Perhaps I should try that other one, RegscrubXP?

Every reg cleaner program I've D/L'ed (about a dozen) make a backup.
I use several, since, as mentioned in several threads before, each cleaner program seems to detect/skip bogus entries that others skip/detect.

I've settled on WinRescue (not in listings AFAIK):

I use it last, after MS regclean, REgVac, and SysMechanic's embedded cleaner, since it also shrinks the registry, not just zero out bogus entries.
