while trying to correct a problem with a usb device, I accidentally deleted registry lines with 'mpfilt.sys' file in them (systematically searched & deleted all of them!). Now the usb controller in the device driver shows exclamation mark!. Pls help if you can find any way of recovering the usb ports, short of formatting & re-installing.
I tried all System retore points, but it consistently gives an error.
The machine is HP notebook dv2710, with Vista Home Premium loaded. Chipset is nVidia nforce 630a. Please help!
