Registry Needs Restoring

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with XP Pro on it at the moment. I have the Toshiba recovery disk and backup disks that I made.

I somehow messed up my registry, and got the "recovered from a serious error" message. SpySweeper will no longer function because a "wrid.dll" is missing. Did a couple of system restores, rolling the computer back, but doesn't seem to work. I could go back further, or even wipe the system and do a full recovery. (Wish I had a recovery console installed!). I searched Microsoft, but didn't come up with anything new.

Anyone got a simple solution, rather than wiping the computer and starting over? :-o
