Registry Problem: NoChangeStartMenu

Hey guys,

I added this into my regisrty last night while I was totally wasted (3 very strong white russians).

Now no matter what value I set the Dword to it still won't let me move folders around the start menu or right click on it. Even if I delete it.

Am I missing something here?

What is the operating system, and do you have System Restore?

 

Win XP 64 and no I keep sys restore off.

 

Did you reboot between the changes?

Or add the key back in, and set the DWORD to 0.

Also, was this in HKLM or HKCU?

 

Yes I rebooted and I did set the DWORD to 0, no change. It's in HKCU.

 

See if your Enable Dragging and Dropping option is available:

Classic Start Menu

Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Enable Enable Dragging and Dropping

New Start Menu

Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Click Advanced tab and enable Enable Dragging and Dropping
