Hi all, I need some help if anyone can offer some advice.

I want to remove a VXD file in my registry that keeps coming up when I boot up Windows (98SE)

It tells me the program is no longer in use and Windows can't find etc...

How do I delete this file from my registry?

    Thanks.

VXD files do not exist in registry. They exist somewhere other than that and generally in your W98 directory. However I think that what you are seeing at startup is a command buried in your windows startup to call up a program requiring the VXD. I would say that the VXD file is either corrupted or missing and it could well be a necessary part of windows calling on it because it want it to load to support a program at startup.
In your case the first thing after windows finally fires up I would be running system file checker and have your 98Se CD handy to reload and uncorrupted version of the VXD that is called on.
There are other answers but this is the first area that I would explore if I understand your question correctly.
    Hope this helps
    Robert

    :)
