    I have been looking for a good registery cleaner that compresses/fixes etc..Post If you have/know a good one.

    How many Registry Cleaners should you have btw?

    Good question, I would say its like cleaning up spyware, we all generally have 2 because one misses stuff the other finds and vice versa.

    the same could be said of registry cleaners... I have two but I generally only use one these days plus a registry deframentaion/compactor.

    Easy Cleaner is a good registry cleaner and this app below is good at defragging the registry

    the MS registry cleaner is now no longer developed and supported by Microsoft and if you use newer MS software for instance Office then problems can arise from using this outdated software http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;299958

    I would stay away from Micro$$oft's RegClean.

    Not only doesn't it tell you what it is removing, but it can also delete program licences and registration numbers stored in the Registry, reverting your licenced and paid for software back to shareware.

    I run CCleaner's "issues" scan (which cleans the registry) daily, and run EasyCleaner once a week or so. I did some scans with HDCleaner, it found a lot the others didn't. But it's much less user-friendly, and you really need to be an advanced user to make full use of it. I deleted about a quarter of the registry keys it picked out, I don't know enough to do much more!
