registry tweaks

I'm looking to put the Tech office number on the desk top w/ some info like ip, os, etc... i fond PaintDesktopVersion that adds the os build, so how/can I change or add to this :confused

i use bginfo. it puts just about any info youd want to know about your computer right on your desktop. not sure if thats what youre looking for though.

 

This is probably not exactly what you're looking for, but you can add your own custom info and picture/logo to the system properties in WinXP (see screen shot). In the Windows\System32 folder, there are two files: oemlogo.bmp (obviously the logo) and oeminfo.ini which is the information that appears in the System Properties window (purple box in the screen shot), and the info that comes up when you click on the Support Information button (green box in screen shot). The logo must be a bitmap file, 180w x 120h or smaller. Use the following format for the oeminfo.ini file:

Obviously, the text after the equal signs "=" is up to you. The text in the [General] section will appear in the System Properties window next to your custom logo (the pruple box in the screen shot).
