ok heres the deal, i have windows xp. and a pretty awesome computer with extremly value documents, and other stuff that cannot be lost. however i havent backed up my files in a while.... wells heres the problem...

the other day i was searching the internet and downloaded a basic keylogger to make sure no one on my computer was doing anything there not sopposed to be doing, then i download the new version of aim. well i went to go into my control panel and it kept saying program not responded so i rebooted and then i after the windows boot screen i got a message saying windows/system32/ <--something else and was a registry error it said either the registry file was missing, deleted, altered.... well i dont have a safe mode or atleast it wont load when hitting f8 and it doesn even give me the little thing at the bottem of the screen saying press f8 to boot in safe mode. well the files cannot be lost, i need help perferably answers that are free but i will pay money if need be. i am gonna try windoctor though but that may be in a like 2 days.... i really need help

Have you tried F8-Boot w/ last known good configuration? Also, check this link... be sure to read all the way thru it TWICE so you completely understand what's going on... the instructions should at least allow you to boot to a desktop. You may lose your icons and shortcuts, but all your data will still be there to burn to CD. Here's the link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545/en-us
    Print the instructions if possible.
Also, if you have ERD2005 by Winternals or access to it, it has a 'remote' system restore that will allow you to roll back your PC to before the error occured, but ERD is not free (unless you can find it on a torrent site ;) ) It might be called ERD Commander.... It's a bootable CD similar to a BartPE or UBCD4Win type of disc... UBCD4Win has a registry repair tool as well, and allows for burning of CD's to back up stuff. You'll need 2 CD drives and boot to the one that isn't the burner. Just type UBCD4Win into your favorite search engine.... you'll need to follow the instructions (it's an involved process, but easy) to create the UBCD and you'll need your XP CD also.
    GOOD LUCK!!!
