I was using Advanced System Care for a little maintenance and in the Registry Fix part while it was scanning I saw a file called invalid shortcut that had some strange names , tried to search for this file to try and delete it but cant find it , is there some other way to locate it and get rid of it ?

Didn't ASC get rid of it for you? Run it again to check.

Try using CCLeaner.....run the registry section and make sure you do the backup when prompted.

I'm sorry but is your computer having some type of problem running?
You would not touch the registry unless you know what your doing.
You can bring your PC to it's knees.

    md2lgyk I can't follow the rules

If CCleaner displays something about an invalid shortcut, that is a registry entry referring to a file that is no longer on your computer. Of course you're not going to be able to find it. CCleaner should easily delete the shortcut, but you do have to select it and tell CCleaner to do so.

I've used CCleaner for years on many systems and never had an issue with it.

    A bit confused.
Is this your post, wrangler 2100? It looks like it, but it's not under your name:
Anyway, looking carefully at your first post, I see that WHILE ASC WAS SCANNING, you saw
You then tried to search for it to delete it.
Did you search for 'invalid shortcut'? It sounds like you did. Perhaps you don't realise how ASC works.
You will see a number of things while the scan is progressing, then afterwards, up on the right (next to where it says Registry Fix), it tells you how many problems it found (in orange text). You can then click on that and see all the problems listed.
All the problems will be ticked (checked), so to fix them you just have to click on OK.
