I downloaded Regseeker and am not quite sure what to make of it, it has found over 200 registry errors! Just wondering if anyone knows what this one is and if it is safe to delete, as there are around 50 entries like this:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Software\Microsoft\Tracing\etc.....
    %windir%\tracing

Thanks, Star17, but I'm not as brave as you. I'm too scared to do that with Regseeker. What OS do you have? Do you delete the RED ones that Regseeker finds too?

I have XP pro and windows office installed. I remember reading somewhere that Office has some files pointing nowhere on purpose, and you're not supposed to delete them. However with Regseeker I can't tell if it is going to delete those Office files.

I found this comparison chart about registry cleaners, and was wondering if any major geeks could comment:

Not to be nosy, but how come you uninstalled Office? Which alternative do you use, and does the alternative open the Office documents you already had made?

Wondering if anyone has used the "find in registry" function in RegSeeker very often??

I recently probably got overly aggressive when cleaning the registry after uninstalling Norton SystemWorks 2003. I ran and deleted all entries found by JV16 and RegSeeker. After cleaning with both JV16 and RegSeeker, when using the "find in registry" function and doing a search for both Symantec and Norton, I found over 100 more registry entries which I deleted. No ill effects so far. Have tried running most of the programs on my PC.

Wonder if I just got lucky and why neither JV16 or RegSeeker identified those 100+ entries in their normal scan.
