RegSupreme Not "Fixing"

I've read many posts here and decided to download RegSupreme (30 day trial). I ran it for the first time (Deep Scan). OH MY!! It came up with 1114 items that had problems. I've read that a lot of people "fix" them a group at a time and restart so that the system doesn't go crazy with all of those changes, but the FIX option isn't available to me. It is never clickable - whether I highlight some problem files or not. Is the FIX only available if I buy the software and not in the 30 day trial?? Also, the reason I got it was to get rid of Incredimail leftovers, yet it doesn't show up in the RegSupreme scan. It's a file that finishes installing Incredimail. I manually delete it every time - but when I restart my computer, it keeps popping up and asks me if I want to finish installation. So 2 questions here: 1. Why can't I click on FIX after a RegSupreme Scan and 2. How do I fully delete this Incredimail file since the Manual delete doesn't work. P.S. Windows XP.

As always, MUCHO GRACIAS!!! :) Stephanie

Did you try right clicking and select all, then right click and delete?
    Got the newest version?
If not might have to email the author.

Second question, start a new thread or search, I am not 100%, but think its been covered :)

Hey MA - So I did the "Select All" as you suggested and the FIX was available! However, can I fix all 1114 files at once or will it freak out my computer?? I tried selecting segments, but the FIX only works when all of them are selected.

I'll do a search for the Incredimail problem...thanks!!!!

Ok, now thats a tough question ;) Heres why. Normally you tell it to "fix" all, but in my experience, it deletes all but one or 2. I just delete everything and do not have a problem. All that said, this is your registry, you should have a back created when you started. Make sure, so you can recover, but I am betting you will be fine. 1114 is a lot though, so I would be sure you created a backup. Let me know!

MA - I fixed all of the RegSupreme files and 6 of them were fixed, the others deleted. I then ran a Deep Scan to see if anything else came up - nothing. I restarted the computer, made sure most of my programs worked (yes, they did) and ran RegSupreme again. Nothing on the Normal, but it found 835 problem files in the Deep Scan! Why did they suddenly show up after I restarted?? And should I delete them? I know that you shouldn't mess with the Deep Scan, so I'll wait to here what you think. Thanks so much. Stephanie

I gotta be honest here... Deep scan, IMHO is overkill. The registry is a tricky area and can easily cause problems. If your not having problems, I would leave it be for now. I never do the deep scans, just seems overkill risky to me. Someone else might have more.

BigBazza, anytime you can chime in with additional information is appreciated.

BigBazaa - I'm always grateful for the help. Still having a hard time getting rid of Incredimail. If I still have problems, I'll start a new thread. Thanks so much. Stephanie

I usually do deep scan on RegSupreme after I do a normal scan after I've uninstalled an app just to be sure that all references to the uninstalled proggie are kaput. I have "fixed" other items in deep scan mode, but only after finding out what the keys and other items I'm ex-ing out are ! MA's right, messing with the registry can be scary but, if you do the research it can be safe. Crap Cleaner has a neat utility. the "issues" scan, that's a help with void registry keys and other leftovers also. (I mention CCleaner just to make your head hurt a little more ;) )

Steph, billH mentioned CrapCleaner. Just in case you haven't got it, download it from the MG link below. Download and install the other 2 as well. All 3 are free. Do not conflict with each other. Run all 3 after every net session to get rid of crap, I do. Keeps your PC clean of most
cookies, temp files, index.dat, etc. Bazza
