I was using recovery cd's to recover laptop to orignal settings.
About midway through my laptop froze, but not before patrioning of HDs.
Now when i put in my MAIN cd in for the start of recovery, it asks me to eject and restart and that it will startup at partion settings. but it doesnt. just gives me black screen with text.. No operating system.. or something to that nature.

Anyone have some suggestions or anything? Thanks

Do you want to do a complete clean install?

If you have a desktop pc or have access to one make or download a windows 98 or someother floppy boot disk that has FDISK on it.

Google search for boot disks will give you loads of freebies

You can use this to clear all your partitions at present, make a new one if you like and format them. This will remove any data you have on the HARD DRIVE. Hopefully then your recovery disks should work.
