Reinstalling IE

Well i think my internet explorer is making my computer screw up sometimes. Right now it's actually acting weird. Just to be on the safe side I want to reinstall it. How would I do it? Thanks in advance.

 

You can go under Add/Remove Programs and select Microsoft Internet Explorer and go the steps to uninstall it. You will be given to options to uninstall, Repair Internet Explorer, or something else (going from memory). Select "Repair Internet Explorer" and go from there.

If for some reason you don't see MS IE in the Add/Remove list, go to "Program Files\Internet Explorer\\IE Uninstall\" from the DOS/CMD prompt and run "W2KEXCP.EXE /U" (no quotes). I'm running IE from Windows 2000, there may be something similar to this from a different OS version (?) - just a guess - you'll have to see what's in this folder.

Well Umm IE wasn't in Add remove list and there was no uninstall option O_O.....what do I do now?

 

What operating system are you using ?

 

Windows XP home.

 

ahh, ok. go to add remove windows components (in that control panel), uncheck IE, let it do its thing, then repeat the process and check it. That might work

 

Thanks I did that but now It goes really slow >.<;;, but well thanks anyway. Hmm I'll restart, that may fix it.
