Reinstalling windows 7

    Hi.

    I am running windows 7 ultimate, I tried to reinstall/repair from setup dvd with no luck, It says can not upgrade. I need to overwrite exist setting to avoid loosing settings and installed software.

    Please help.

    What symptoms are prompting you to perform a repair install? Before attempting the repair install, have you tried running a System File Check (SFC)?

    If yours is a valid Microsoft Windows 7 disk then you should be able to follow the steps listed here to perform a non-destructive repair installation.
