Reloading Windows from secure storage

    I am presently in deep trouble because I overwrote a good XP with a counterfeit version from Ebay. I'm told that the OS can be stored on an HD partition for future reloads, thus eliminating my problem for future newbies. Can anyone walk me through this process?
