Relvnc Problem

I've just purchased a Dell Inspiron 1200 laptop with a Dell wireless card. This
runs Windows XP home

The Desktop pc is running windows XP pro
The Desktop is connected to a Linksys hub

I have a Linksys wireless access point also connected to the hub.

I can communicate both ways (from desktop to Laptop and Laptop to desktop.

The problem: I cannot start a Realvnc viewer client on the laptop to connect to the desktop server.

HOWEVER: If I start a realvnc "listening viewer" on the laptop
and then rightclick the server on the desktop and select "add new client" and give it the laptop's IP address, It will start the client on the laptop.

Secondary problem which may be related: I cannot submit any comments to this forum from the desktop ---- when I click "submit new thread", it just waites and never transmits the data
