Remote Assistance

I have fixed the problem of my ie explorer erroring whenever I enable ActivX, so I have been able to download Windows Messenger. Im trying to give a friend some help removing adware from his computer over remote assistance, but when I open it, it says that Windows Messenger is not installed. When I click on "Download Windows Messenger", it brings me to the MSN messenger website. I have downloaded both that and Windows messenger, updated both, but neither is detected by Remote Assistance, even when they are running already.

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

 

what OS are you both using?

 

we are both using windows xp.

I havent tryed to connect to him yet, so i dont think thats the problem

 

pro or home versions please..

 

im using home, no clue what hes using. I think it is home though

I ended up installing Service Pack 1 & 2, then it worked. Very odd, but it worked, lol.
