Remote Desktop Connection Help

Hi i am using Windows 7 Home, can i use remote desktop connection to hook up to my friends machine running Windows Vista? Thanks!

It may be that your version will not support Remote Desktop...

I would suggest trying |MG| Team Viewer, I use it, fairly simple and has good security controls...

 

Thanks Cypher I read the article but I haven't tried it yet, thought I could get some insight on here first...I guess this MG Team Viewer would have all sorts of positive results if I scanned it with virustotal I guess?

 

I've used TeamViewer for years, never had an issue of any sort with it.

 

Get it from here, in the link I posted. Major Geeks checks all the software they "provide", but do feel free to run it thru Virus Total. Be aware that every now and again one of the services used there will turn up a negative, almost always a false reading due to some technical spec of the checking software. 1 or 2 out of 50 checks coming back bad tells me that that reading is wrong...

The thing with Team Viewer is that it can be used for file transfer between machines in addition to remote control of apps and trouble shooting...

If your skill set is a bit more advanced, you could look at |MG | WinSCP for FTP or SFTP. But, IMO, Team Viewer is the easiest solution to your problem...

Both WinSCP and Team Viewer will connect Windows to Windows machines and Windows to Linux machines.
