Remote Desktop Connection

    Hi, is it possible to have a remote desktop connection on my computer, that activates without my knowledge? Especially, if it's on the same internet network.

    Yes it is possible. It is called Unattended access. Done all of the time through RDP, VNC, Teamviewer, etc.

    Turn off your modem when you go away, or pull the ethernet cord if wired to the router, or shut down the wifi, or just unplug it. The choice is yours. Unless someone is allowed access to your machine, only way that they could, is if you either got tricked into downloading something that allows them to gain access, or make it available to outside connections.
