Remote Desktop

I carry out basic PC maintenance for my wife’s business which is a 40 minute drive away. I would like to be able to access 2 x desktop PC’s from my laptop at home to save me driving up.

The work can only be done when the office is closed so no staff will be present to accept codes etc, the PC’s will just be switched on.

The 2 x PC’s are Windows 11 and so is my home laptop.

What would be the simplest way to do this

The two systems you want to connect to have to be Pro - Home can't do it.

RDP is not the best solution, opening those ports to the Internet will invite every hacker to give it a go. I host my own RustDesk server, but I'd suggest (with permission) you use something else, Chrome Remote Desktop is nice. Using a code to connect remotely is only one way, several of these remotes can be installed and remain active without the end user having to interact.
Do you use a VPN to connect to their network? If you VPN in then RDP would be an OK option.

 

You could use the other option is download TeamViewer which is free and install on both computers you can remote access that way aswell you can even set up remote access on the other computer so you can remote access when you want to do the work.
