Remote Fix for Mom

I am looking for some help on how to set upi remote access from my computer in SC to my mothers computer in NC. She is in her 70's and I wanted to be able to help manage her computer and set things up from remote. Does anyone have a simple tutorial on how to do this.

Hi

What Windows versions are the PCs that are to be used.

Guessing at XP here and this is one option http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/northrup_03may16.mspx in using the built in remote desktop

or you could go with the free version of Logmein doesnt allow file teransfers but you can download any apps needed on your moms pc. A setup guide here

Although there seems to be some compatability issues between versions......

You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Basic N, or Windows Vista Home Premium. You can, however, connect from those editions of Windows Vista to computers running other versions of Windows.

You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows XP Home Edition.

So you might have no choice but to use the 3rd party software Halo or satrow posted.
