My wife is staying with her family and having some issues with thier connection.
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible for me to access thier router remotely. I have the IP address and login information.

IE: to access my router here, I type in http://192.168.1.1 and simply log in.

But...is it possible to login to another router via the 'net similar to this? If so, how?

    Yes
Depends on the router. All modern routers I've seen have an option to turn on remote access. If you can get the make/model of the router you should be able to look up the router on the manufacturers site (or google it) to see where the option is.
Or post back with the make/model and I'll have a look for it (or someone else will).
Then you'll need to talk your wife through accessing the router and finding/setting the option and password.
